Product details
The UGREEN three-metre USB-C cable provides extra reach between a compatible charger and a USB-C device. It combines a 100W charging capability with USB 2.0 data transfer, making it useful for a laptop, tablet or phone that needs to sit farther from the power source. Both connectors are USB-C, so the charging equipment must provide the corresponding connection.
The cable supports charging up to 20V at 5A, giving a maximum capability of 100W. That rating describes what the cable can carry; the actual power is negotiated by the charger and device. A compatible Power Delivery charging setup is needed to use the higher output settings. Lower-power phones and tablets can also use the cable at their supported charging levels.
An E-Marker chip is built into the cable to support power negotiation. For data, the connection operates at USB 2.0 speeds up to 480Mbps. It can therefore be used for ordinary file synchronisation as well as charging, but its higher charging wattage does not make it a high-speed USB data cable. It does not support video output and should not be chosen for a USB-C monitor connection.
Aluminium connector housings and a nylon jacket provide reinforcement for regular handling. UGREEN states that the design passed more than 30000 bending tests. The three-metre length gives more placement flexibility than the shorter members of the same cable family, particularly when a wall charger is some distance from a desk or seating position.
UGREEN lists compatibility with USB-C equipment including MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, ThinkPad and selected HP laptops, along with compatible tablets and phones. Check the charging requirements of the device and the capability of the adapter you intend to use. This version is a separate three-metre product, selected for defined reach, 100W charging support and everyday USB 2.0 data transfer rather than display or high-bandwidth storage use.
