Our quick verdict

The Fitbit Edge lasts much longer between charges (7 days vs 18 hours), works with Android phones and iPhones and takes ECG heart-rhythm readings, though some coaching features need a Google Health Premium subscription, while the Apple Watch SE 2 runs watchOS built around the iPhone, is slimmer and takes calls from the wrist, though it works only with an iPhone.
