Product details
The UGREEN network cable tester checks continuity in compatible network and telephone cabling. It combines a main unit with a detachable remote module so the two ends of a cable can be checked without placing them beside each other. That arrangement is useful during installation or when investigating whether a cable connection is complete before equipment is connected to the line.
RJ45 network cables and RJ11 telephone cables are supported by the NW167 model. The tester’s purpose is cable continuity checking, so it should be selected for that task rather than as a measurement tool for internet speed. Check the cable’s connector type and the intended test arrangement before use. A successful continuity check is one part of investigating a cable installation, alongside correct termination and suitable connected equipment.
UGREEN specifies separated testing over cable runs of up to 150 metres. The remote module can be placed at the other end of the run while the main unit remains with the operator. This is useful where the ends terminate in different areas of a building. The stated distance is the tester’s supported checking range and should not be treated as a separate guarantee of network performance over that cable length.
Both shielded and unshielded network cables can be checked. The unit uses a nine-volt carbon battery, and UGREEN identifies a housing made from PC and ABS. Its approximate weight is 85 grams, giving a compact item that can be carried with cabling tools. The detachable arrangement also reduces the need to bring the ends of a fixed installation together just to perform a continuity check.
Choose this tester when the required job is checking compatible RJ45 or RJ11 cabling with a separate remote end. Prepare the appropriate battery and follow the supplied testing instructions before connecting the line. Record the observed result and investigate any failed connection before returning the cabling to service. The useful combination here is defined connector support, a removable remote module and continuity checking for both shielded and unshielded cable installations.
