The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 combines front dual-spring shock absorbers with 10-inch tubeless tyres for everyday riding. Its high-strength carbon-steel frame supports a maximum rider load of 120kg. The Black scooter folds for storage and uses a rear-wheel-drive brushless motor. This is the standard Scooter 5, with specifications distinct from the Pro and Max versions.
The motor is rated at 350W, with maximum power of 700W. Xiaomi lists a maximum speed of 25km/h and an approximately 18% incline capability under test conditions. Walking mode provides up to 6km/h, Standard mode up to 20km/h and Sport mode up to 25km/h. Performance depends on load, battery charge, surface and operating conditions, rather than guaranteeing the listed maximums on every journey.
A 10.2Ah battery is rated at 477Wh. Xiaomi’s approximately 60km range figure comes from controlled testing with a specified rider load and an average speed of 15km/h on a flat road. Actual range changes with the riding environment. Charging takes approximately nine hours. The intelligent battery management system provides protection against short circuits, overcurrent, overcharging, over-discharge, excessive temperature and low voltage.
The front drum brake and rear E-ABS work together when slowing the scooter. Integrated turn indicators provide light and an audible alert when operated. The automatic headlight requires activation in the Xiaomi Home app. The rear light comes on with the headlight and can be configured to remain on. The dashboard shows speed, battery level, indicators and scooter status.
Xiaomi Home also provides supported settings for motor locking, energy recovery and firmware updates. The scooter weighs 20.1kg. Its dimension diagram shows 1142mm length and 1275mm unfolded height; the folded height and width are each 566mm. Consider both weight and folded dimensions before choosing a storage space or carrying it upstairs.
The scooter has an IPX5 splash-resistance rating and should not be immersed. The specified rider age is 16–50 years, with height of 120–200cm. Follow the manual, check tyres, brakes and the folding latch, and observe local riding rules. The package contains the scooter, power adapter, T-handle Allen key, five screws and the manufacturer’s documentation.
