The Xiaomi Outdoor Camera CW500 Dual combines a fixed camera with a movable PTZ camera for monitoring two outdoor views from one device. This EU version supports linked camera tracking and remote viewing through Xiaomi Home.
Both lenses provide 4MP imaging at 2560 × 1440 with f/1.6 apertures. Each camera has two infrared lights and two white lights. When the configured human-detection event occurs at night, the supplementary white lighting can provide colour footage. The fixed view watches a selected area while the PTZ view can turn towards activity.
Human and vehicle detection, virtual fence settings and linked human tracking provide configurable event monitoring. The app can send notifications and provide recorded event video after the relevant functions are enabled. Sound and flashing-light alarms add an on-device response. Detection accuracy and notification timing depend on the environment and settings.
Connectivity is Wi-Fi 6, IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/a/ac/ax, 2.4GHz/5GHz; Ethernet. The camera works with Xiaomi Home; Android 8.0 or iOS 12.0 and later. Pair it through the app and choose a position with a reliable network signal; wireless performance depends on the installation and surrounding interference.
Recording options include 16–256GB microSD; paid Xiaomi Cloud; NAS. Memory cards are purchased separately, and cloud recording requires a paid service where available. Select the storage method suited to your recording needs and check its setup instructions in the app.
The camera supports two-way voice calls through its microphone and speaker, with noise reduction for outdoor communication. A built-in MJA1 security chipset supports the manufacturer’s data-protection design. Compatible Alexa and Google Home displays can show supported footage where those services are available. Dual-angle time-lapse recording is also supported.
The IP66 camera is designed for outdoor installation, but its supplied adaptor is not waterproof and must be kept indoors. Camera operating temperature is −30°C to 60°C; adaptor range is −30°C to 45°C. The package includes the camera, adaptor, mounting template, waterproof power-cable strip, screws, Ethernet waterproof kit, manual and warning sticker.
