The Mi Wireless Outdoor Security Camera 1080p Set combines one battery-powered outdoor camera with one indoor receiver. The receiver is required for the camera to operate and provides the connection and storage functions. This set supplies both pieces, making it suitable for starting a compatible Xiaomi outdoor monitoring setup rather than adding a camera alone.
The camera records at 1920 × 1080 resolution with a 130-degree field of view and an F2.1 aperture. Wide Dynamic Range helps handle backlit scenes. Eight 940nm infrared lights support night vision, with Xiaomi listing a distance of up to seven metres under test conditions. Position the camera to cover the intended area while avoiding reflective surfaces near the lens.
PIR human detection triggers recordings and supported phone notifications when activity is detected. Motion sensitivity, recording duration and alert intervals can be adjusted in Xiaomi Home. The camera supports H.265 video encoding and two-way audio between the camera and a phone. Its anti-theft screw structure and built-in gyroscope support alerts for abnormal movement; disable the relevant alert before removing the unit for charging.
A built-in 5700mAh battery powers the outdoor camera. The estimated 90-day battery life was measured with twenty daily recording triggers lasting fifteen seconds each. Frequent activity, longer recordings and live viewing reduce battery life. The camera and receiver use a rated 5V, 2A supply for charging or power. Follow the manual’s charging instructions and avoid exposing charging connections to rain.
The outdoor camera has IP65 dust and water resistance and an operating temperature range of minus 20 to 50 degrees Celsius. The indoor receiver belongs inside. It connects through 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or its RJ45 Ethernet port. One receiver supports up to four compatible outdoor cameras; only one camera is included in this set.
Receiver storage supports a microSD card up to 32GB, a USB drive and supported cloud storage services. Storage media are purchased separately, and cloud features depend on regional service availability. Xiaomi Home compatibility starts at Android 6.0 or iOS 10. The camera weighs 273g and the receiver 88g.
