The Mi Motion-Activated Night Light 2 (Bluetooth) is a small battery-powered light that responds to movement in a dark space. Its white circular body sits on a magnetic base, allowing the light to be positioned on a flat surface or supported at an appropriate angle. This is the Bluetooth edition, with app-adjustable lighting and supported sensor functions.
The lamp provides warm light at a stated colour temperature of 2800K. Its specified luminous flux ranges from 2.5 to 25 lumens, with brightness and the time the light stays on adjustable through Xiaomi Home. Choose a low setting for a bedroom or a brighter setting for a cupboard or passage, depending on the placement and available ambient light.
The movement sensor covers a listed horizontal angle of 120 degrees. Xiaomi describes detection up to six metres in front and 2.5 metres to the sides under its test conditions. Mounting height, direction and the surrounding environment affect detection. The manufacturer gives different aiming guidance for high and low mounting positions, so follow the manual rather than assuming one angle works everywhere.
Bluetooth on a compatible phone is used when changing settings or updating firmware. For independent motion-sensor and bright-or-dark sensor functions within smart-home automations, a compatible Bluetooth gateway is required separately. The ambient-light sensor reports bright or dark conditions rather than a numerical light-meter reading. The night light alone is not a substitute for a gateway.
Three AA batteries provide the rated 4.5V supply; batteries are not included in the package. Rated power is 0.35W. Xiaomi’s long battery-life results were calculated with defined daily activation counts and battery capacity, so actual life depends on brightness, activation duration and use. The light does not have a USB charging connection or built-in rechargeable battery.
The body measures 80mm in diameter by 62mm. A polycarbonate diffusing cover and impact-resistant ABS form the listed construction. The package includes the night light, user manual and warranty notice. The base’s adhesive is intended for an appropriate prepared surface and should not be reused. Keep the device dry, follow battery-installation instructions and test detection after positioning the magnetic light.
