Dual-Mic Noise Suppression
Unlike standard headsets (like the Logitech H390) which use a single mic, the Zone Wired uses two. The primary mic captures your voice, while the secondary mic monitors the ambient environment. The internal DSP (Digital Signal Processing) then subtracts the ambient noise from your voice signal. This is specifically tuned to suppress the frequency of human speech and mechanical noises (like keyboard clicks).
The Sidetone Advantage
One of the most annoying things about wearing high-quality headsets is “the tunnel effect”—where you can’t hear yourself speak, causing you to talk too loudly. Through the Logi Tune app, you can adjust the Sidetone levels. This feeds a controlled amount of your own voice back into the earcups, making your conversations feel as natural as talking in person.
Microsoft Teams vs. UC Versions
The Zone Wired comes in two versions: MS Teams and UC (Unified Communications).
-
The MS Teams version (981-000871) features a dedicated Teams button on the inline controller. One press brings the Teams app to the front or joins a waiting meeting.
-
The UC version is optimized for Zoom, Google Meet, and other platforms without the dedicated Teams button.
Premium Durability
Logitech didn’t just use plastic here. The frame is Teflon-coated stainless steel, which provides flexibility without the “creaking” sound often heard in cheaper headsets. The cable is a braided, speckled material that resists tangling and is much more durable than standard rubber cables found on entry-level models.
Who Is This Perfect For?
- The Remote Worker: If you live in a noisy household and need your clients to believe you are in a quiet, professional office.
- The “Power User”: Anyone who jumps between dozens of meetings a day and needs a headset that won’t hurt their ears or head by lunchtime.
- The IT Manager: A reliable, mass-deployable headset for a Kenyan corporate team that needs plug-and-play reliability across both Windows and Mac.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Does it work with my Android phone?
Yes, if your phone has a USB-C port, you can plug it in directly. However, full call-control functionality (like the mute button) depends on the specific mobile app you are using.
2. Is it Active Noise Canceling (ANC) for the ears?
No. The Zone Wired features Active Noise Cancellation for the Microphone (so others don’t hear your background). It uses Passive Noise Isolation (thick memory foam) to block out noise for you. If you need ANC for your ears, you would need the Logitech Zone 750 or Zone Wireless.
3. Can I wear the mic on either side?
Yes! The boom rotates 270 degrees, so you can wear the microphone on either your left or right side depending on your preference.
4. Does the “Flip-to-Mute” work with Zoom?
Yes. When you flip the boom up to the vertical position, the headset hardware mutes the audio. Most modern apps like Zoom will also show your status as muted on the screen.
5. How long is the cable?
The cable is 1.9 meters (approx. 6.2 feet). It’s long enough to give you some room to move around your desk but short enough to keep your setup tidy.
