Product details
The UGREEN USB-C SATA adapter connects a compatible 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD to a computer through USB-C. It gives access to the drive without installing it inside the computer, making it useful for reading an existing drive or transferring files between storage devices. The cable adapter is a separate accessory rather than an enclosure with a built-in storage drive.
The USB connection supports data transfer at up to 5Gbps. UASP support can improve the way compatible systems handle storage commands, but the computer, operating system and driver must support the relevant function. The drive itself also affects performance. The maximum USB link rate should therefore be considered alongside the storage device and host connection when planning file transfers.
TRIM and S.M.A.R.T. support are included among the adapter’s storage functions. TRIM is relevant to compatible SSD maintenance, while S.M.A.R.T. provides a route for supported drive-health information. These functions depend on the connected equipment and software. UGREEN advises checking that the required features are enabled instead of assuming every computer will provide the same storage-management behaviour.
A white LED indicates the connection state. It remains lit during standby and flashes when data is being read or written. After approximately three minutes without drive activity, the adapter enters its automatic sleep state. Those indicators and the sleep function help distinguish an idle drive from one actively transferring files without needing to disconnect the adapter.
UGREEN lists driver-free compatibility with Windows, macOS and Linux and excludes SATA DVD or Blu-ray recorders from the supported uses. This version uses a USB-C host connector and is listed by the supplier with a 50-centimetre cable. Confirm that your storage device is a compatible 2.5-inch SATA drive, and use the operating system’s safe-eject function before unplugging it. Choose the adapter for direct, portable access to an existing SATA drive.
