Product details
The Canon CanoScan LiDE 400 is a USB-powered flatbed scanner for documents and photographs. Its 4800 × 4800 dpi optical resolution and five front-panel buttons provide a compact setup for everyday scanning and archiving.
Capture quality
The LiDE scanning system uses a Contact Image Sensor and three-colour RGB LEDs. Optical resolution reaches 4800 × 4800 dpi. Colour capture uses 48-bit internal processing with supported output settings depending on the operating system and driver. Grayscale capture uses 16-bit internal processing with 8-bit output. Select a resolution appropriate to the task, since larger high-resolution scans require more storage and processing.
Document workflows
The flatbed accepts originals up to 216 × 297 mm, covering A4 and Letter documents. Under Canon’s specified test conditions, a colour A4 or Letter scan at 300 dpi takes approximately eight seconds, while a 4 × 6-inch colour photo takes approximately four seconds. The scanner handles originals placed individually on the glass and does not include an automatic document feeder or automatic duplex scanning.
Controls and software
Five buttons support Auto Scan, Copy, Send and PDF start or finish workflows. Compatible IJ Scan Utility software provides document, photograph and PDF functions, including supported text-recognition workflows. The expanding lid accommodates thicker originals. Upright scanning is available for suitable placement, although Auto Scan mode is not available while scanning upright.
USB-powered installation
A USB Type-C connection carries both data and power. The data interface is Hi-Speed USB 2.0. Specified consumption reaches 4.5W during operation and approximately 0.3W in standby. The body measures 250 × 367 × 42 mm and weighs approximately 1.7 kg. Install the Canon software and driver supported by your computer before starting a scanning workflow.
