The Xiaomi Smart Camera C201 provides 1080p indoor monitoring with motorised pan and tilt. Its compact body measures 78 × 76 × 115mm. Xiaomi Home provides remote adjustment, viewing and access to supported recordings after setup.
The 2MP camera uses a published resolution of 1920 × 1080. Its dual-axis mechanism supports 360° horizontal monitoring and vertical adjustment from the phone. Low-light colour imaging keeps scenes in colour for longer as lighting falls. Six infrared illuminators provide night viewing without the visible red glow described for conventional infrared systems.
A local human-detection algorithm identifies and follows a person, with notifications sent to the phone when the relevant monitoring functions are enabled. Pet detection and tracking are limited to cats and dogs. Recorded video can be explored through the app timeline using date selection, event filters and variable-speed playback. Recognition and notification performance depend on the environment.
Connectivity is Wi-Fi 6, IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax, 2.4GHz; Bluetooth pairing, version not specified. The camera works with Xiaomi Home; Android 8.0 or iOS 12.0 and later. Pair it through the app and choose a position with a reliable network signal; wireless performance depends on the installation and surrounding interference.
Recording options include 8–256GB microSD; paid cloud. Memory cards are purchased separately, and cloud recording requires a paid service where available. Select the storage method suited to your recording needs and check its setup instructions in the app.
The lens can move upwards into the body for physical shielding. The manufacturer lists a MJA1 security chip, encrypted communication, AES-128 cloud-data encryption and configurable sleep times. Two-way calls begin from the phone app, using a speaker and noise-reducing microphone. Compatible Alexa and Google Assistant equipment can provide supported voice functions in available regions.
Rated input is 5V DC at 1A and the specified operating range is −10°C to 40°C. A power adapter is not included. The package contains the camera, charging cable, user manual, base, two screws, two wall plugs, warranty notice, mounting template and image guide.
